So I want to let everyone know what's been up with me for the last few weeks. Back around the beginning of September I had a touch of a bug that just had me not feeling great. On the day of the first football game, September 3rd, despite being very hydrated and having eaten plenty that day, I was very lightheaded just before we were supposed to go out and perform, and that dizziness stayed with me through the whole game. It was very hard not to be able to perform with our band. By the next week I was feeling better, and I thought it was all because I hadn't been feeling well previous to the game.
However, the middle of that week when I was driving home from working with the Davis band, I became very lightheaded and nearly passed out while driving. We went to an insta care, and they ran a bunch of tests. It turned out that my thyroid TSH (brain's demand for thyroid essentially) was very high. My actual thyroid levels were in normal ranges, but with the TSH off, that's why I was dizzy.I had to follow up with a regular doctor because of it, and was then put on a low dose medication. It took quite a while, but I'm Finally not dizzy anymore! I literally was dizzy anytime I did anything for about two weeks. After that I started to drive again, and was only dizzy it I exerted at all. Now it's pretty much completely gone, except for when I conduct. Something about it still gets to me, which is a real pain. I don't know when I'll be able to be on center again, but I'm just hopeful things continue to progress, and that I can get back to fully doing my job!
I would like to say thank you for everyone's understanding while I haven't been able to do as much. Brian Sproul was especially supportive, and it was very, very appreciated! Love you all!
